The Palm Springs Cultural Center incubates, produces and encourages arts and cultural programs in order to leverage the unique power of creativity to open minds, bridge what divides us, and discover what connects us. We do this important work because we firmly believe the programs we produce and support can be transformative, and that they are vital to building harmony, health, and productivity in our community. Moreover, we believe that Coachella Valley residents deserve a community focused cultural center that is accessible to everyone, and affordable for everyone.
In addition to curating film. programs, live theater, local entertainment, world-renowned speakers, and art exhibits, PSCC also owns and operates the Original Certified Farmers Markets (in Palm Springs and Palm Desert). Our markets are the only Coachella Valley Farmers Markets licensed to accept CalFresh/SNAP, WIC, and senior public food assistance benefits from low-income families. Through our matching funds program, the market serves over 1,000 government-assisted shoppers and their families annually and provides access to locally grown, fresh, healthy vegetables and fruits; nutrition education; resources; and information.
Community is at the core of what we do, and with the help of over 100 community partners, we provide space for local organizations to use, and year-round programming for diverse audiences that reaches over 300,000 individuals throughout the Coachella Valley annually. PSCC also provides support and space for other local charities, including Youth Training Orchestras of America and the Palm Springs Dance Project, ensuring that today’s young artists have the proper training and best opportunities available to hone their craft and inspire the next generation of cultural arts patrons.
The Bent is a non-profit 501(c)3 theater dedicated to resourcing the talents and needs of the LGBTQIA+ communities. We believe by shining a light on humanity through theater and other artistic expressions we can create a deeper understanding of our common struggles, triumphs, joys and love within our community.
